Introducing Cocoon Adventures: Where Every Journey is a Story of Inclusion

Cocoon Adventures didn’t start as a grand vision; rather, it was born from a simple desire to create meaningful experiences for individuals with disabilities in 2018.

Before 2018, Cocoon Adventures existed as an informal holiday program within another organisation. But it was in that year that Craig had a vision. He brought Nicky on board, entrusting her with the task of transforming this modest program into something extraordinary. Together, they converted it into a fully-fledged disability travel program.

From those humble beginnings, Cocoon Adventures has evolved into a busy disability travel business that sells out six months in advance. Our journey is a testament to the passion and dedication we pour into every adventure we offer.

Cocoon SDA Care provide personalised care and purpose-built, state-of-the-art homes to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants, as an NDIS registered provider (NDIS Provider No. 4050006516).

We have Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) options in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia that are above NDIS standards.

Accommodating our residents with low care needs, medium care needs and high care needs who require long-term, short-term, medium-term and respite accommodation, we do not just stop once we have found our residents the right home. We also provide personalised care and at-home support services.

To access SDA funding, you need to have it included in your NDIS plan. You will need to work with a NDIS planner to develop an individualised plan, including an assessment of your needs for SDA.

This assessment will consider whether providing you with SDA funding will help you to:

• Maximise your independence and reach the goals in your NDIS plan.
• Support you to participate in family, social, and economic activities.
• Represent good value for money for the NDIS.
• Be appropriate considering what your family, informal networks, mainstream services, and the community can provide.

If SDA funding is not yet secured, we can provide emergency accommodation (short-term accommodation, medium-term accommodation and respite).

Assistive technologies plays a key role in supporting our residents to live independently and complete everyday tasks as easily as possible. Our homes incorporate assistive technology such as home automation technologies, smart technology from internet-equipped devices.
