Down Time
June has been a quiet month for me, with no Marathon Majors on the immediate horizon. This doesn’t mean I have been sitting around twiddling my thumbs. I always make the most of my downtime, by repairing or replacing worn-out equipment. Racing Chairs are a lot like bicycles. They are very expensive and require ongoing maintenance. Neglecting the smallest issue can lead to disaster. Knowing your
chair, maintaining it, and proper preparation is key to success.
“The best preparation for good work tomorrow is to do good work today” – Elbert Hubbard.
Congratulations!
A Huge Congratulations to SDA Cocoon Care employee Raylene Sanileva for taking out the Support Worker of the Year Award at the 2023 Sydney Disability Staff Recognition Awards. What a fabulous achievement, congrats Raylene!
A Good Cause
The SDA Cocoon Care Team are not just about supporting people with disabilities. They are keen on giving everyone a helping hand. This month was the NRL’s annual Beanies for Brain Cancer round. National Trainer Carl was more than happy to show off his beanie in aid of the cause which raises much-needed funds for Brain Cancer research. Since the initiative began in 2014, it has raised over $24 million towards finding a cure for this life-changing illness.
